About This Race
The 28th Annual UCC Coffee Kona Marathon celebrates Independence Day on the Big Island of Hawaii, starting and finishing at the Waikoloa Bowl at Queen's Garden on the Kohala Coast. The course features a scenic route through Historic Kailua Village along Alii Drive with some rolling hills and ocean views. The event includes a full marathon, half marathon, quarter marathon (6.55 miles), and 5K, culminating with a vibrant parade through the Historic Kailua Village and a fireworks spectacular over Kailua Bay. Approximately 1,500 runners participate annually.
