About This Race
The Maratona do Rio is one of the largest running events in Latin America, attracting over 60,000 runners annually across a multi-day festival of running. The event weekend runs from June 4-7, 2026, featuring an expo at Marina da Gloria, a half marathon on Saturday, and the full marathon on Sunday. Runners can take on the Desafio Cidade Maravilhosa challenge by completing both the half marathon and marathon. The scenic course passes Copacabana, Ipanema, and Sugarloaf Mountain.
