About This Race
The Anchorage Mayor's Marathon & Half Marathon is Alaska's premier summer running event, celebrating the summer solstice with over nineteen hours of daylight. The USATF-certified, Boston-qualifying course runs primarily on pedestrian pathways and forested trails through Anchorage's scenic park system. The event features a marathon, half marathon, marathon relay (4-person teams), the Solstice Classic (4.7 miles), and a free Kids Mile. Co-hosted by the Anchorage Parks & Recreation Department and the University of Alaska Anchorage Athletic Department, with ConocoPhillips Alaska as presenting sponsor. Founded in 1975, it draws approximately 4,000 runners from all 50 states and 15 countries.
