About This Race
The Beijing Marathon is one of China's oldest and most prestigious road races, first held in 1981. The World Athletics Gold Label race starts at Tiananmen Square and finishes at the Olympic Green's Celebration Square, passing through major Beijing landmarks including Chang'an Avenue and the Bird's Nest stadium. It draws elite runners from around the world and tens of thousands of recreational participants, serving as the flagship marathon event of mainland China.
