List your marathon for free. Keep your runners. Keep your money.
Every other directory charges you to be seen, and every registration platform takes a cut of each signup. Sunday Marathon doesn’t. Here’s why — and, honestly, how we keep the lights on without it.
We monetize the wrong thing on purpose
Charging organizers to list a race taxes the exact thing that makes a directory useful: complete, accurate races. So we don’t. Free, verified listings are what bring runners — and that audience is what we build a business around, not your listing and not your entry fees.
It also means we can’t be bought into lying. A paid race is never a “better” race here; accurate listings rank on their merits. Money never moves the truth.
So how do we stay alive?
From the ecosystem around the directory, never from a toll on it:
• Optional runner membership — extra tools for runners who want them (free right now while we grow).
• Hotel & travel partnerships — when a runner travels to a destination race, we earn a referral, always clearly disclosed.
• Sponsorships — brands that genuinely help runners, labeled as advertising.
What we will never do: charge you to be listed, take a percentage of your registrations, or sell a higher ranking. If we add premium tools later, they’ll be optional add-ons — the directory and your listing stay free.
Your runners and your data are yours
Your listing, your race’s history, and — once we add registration — your full participant list belong to you: exportable in full, anytime, at no cost. We will never lock your audience inside our walls to keep you here. That isn’t a marketing line; it’s written into our founding constitution.
What we’re honest about
We don’t host registration or timing yet — for now we send runners straight to your own registration page, so you keep 100% of your entry fees with no middleman. Hosted registration is on our roadmap, and when it arrives it will be built the same way: free to list, your data stays yours, no hostage-taking.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is listing my marathon really free?
Yes. Submitting, claiming, and managing your marathon listing on Sunday Marathon costs nothing — no listing fee, no subscription, and no commission on your registrations. We verify the official source before publishing, but there is no charge.
How does Sunday Marathon make money, then?
From the ecosystem around the directory — optional runner membership, hotel and travel affiliate links (always disclosed), and sponsorships — never by charging organizers to be listed or taking a cut of your entry fees. The accurate, free directory is what brings runners; that audience is what we monetize, not your listing.
Do you take a percentage of my registrations?
No. We do not process your registrations or payments. We send runners straight to your own registration page, so you keep 100% of your entry fees with no middleman.
Will you start charging organizers later?
Listing and claiming will stay free. If we add optional premium tools — like deeper analytics or, one day, hosted registration — they will be exactly that: optional add-ons. The core directory and your listing remain free.
Who owns the data and my runners?
You do. Your listing, your race history, and (once we add registration) your participant list are yours — exportable in full, anytime, at no cost. We never hold your audience hostage; it is written into our founding constitution.
What is the catch?
There is no catch for organizers or runners. Free, accurate listings across 180+ countries make Sunday Marathon a place runners search — and that traffic, plus optional memberships and travel partnerships, funds the platform.
