About
The Boise Marathon runs through the City of Trees — Boise's nickname from the French les bois (the woods) spoken by French-Canadian fur trappers in the 1800s. The BQ course winds along the beautiful 25-mile Boise River Greenbelt trail system, through the Basque Block district (Boise has the largest Basque population outside the Basque Country in Europe!), up into the Boise Foothills' sagebrush trails with panoramic views, and past the gold-domed Idaho State Capitol.
