About This Race
The Chengdu Panda Marathon starts at the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base — where the world's rarest and most beloved bears live, eat bamboo, and occasionally roll downhill. The course winds through Sichuan's capital of 20 million people, past the Jinsha ancient civilization archaeological site, along the Jinjiang River landscape corridor, through Dujiangyan (the 2,300-year-old irrigation system that is still operational and a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and through Chengdu's famous teahouse culture streets.
