About This Race
The Chevron Houston Marathon is one of the largest and fastest marathon courses in the United States, attracting runners from all 50 states and over 60 countries. Founded in 1972 with just 113 runners, the race has grown into a premier event featuring a flat, fast loop course through downtown Houston. The race is a popular Boston Marathon qualifier and consistently produces fast finishing times. The weekend also includes the Aramco Houston Half Marathon and a 5K.
