About This Race

The Comrades Marathon is the world's oldest and largest ultramarathon, first run in 1921. The 2026 edition is an Up Run from Durban City Hall to Hollywoodbets Scottsville Racecourse in Pietermaritzburg, covering approximately 87 km. The race starts at 5:30 AM with a strict 12-hour cutoff. Entry is capped at 22,000 runners. Entry fees are R1,200 for South African runners, R2,000 for African residents, and R4,500 for international runners. Entries for 2026 are closed.
