About

The Duke City Marathon returns for its 43rd year as New Mexico's longest-running and premier fitness event. First started in 1984 by Albuquerque's Mayor Harry Kinney together with the 15th Duke of Alburquerque who traveled from Madrid, Spain for the inaugural event, the marathon starts at Mayor Kinney Civic Plaza in downtown Albuquerque. The event encompasses seven distinct races: marathon, marathon relay, half marathon, 10K run, 10K walk, 5K run, and 5K walk. The Boston-qualifying course runs at approximately 5,000 feet elevation, providing a unique high-altitude racing experience. Early Bird Registration ends March 31.
