About This Race
The Edinburgh Marathon Festival is Scotland's largest mass-participation running event, attracting over 35,000 runners and 100,000 spectators. The full marathon, half marathon and relay take place on Sunday, with the 10K, 5K and junior races on Saturday. The fast course starts in Edinburgh's city centre and heads east along the coast towards Musselburgh, offering views of Arthur's Seat, the Firth of Forth, and the East Lothian coastline. Founded in 2003 by Neil Kilgour, it has sold out every year since 2008.
