About This Race
The Guangzhou Marathon is one of South China's largest and most popular running events, first held in 2012. The World Athletics Gold Label race follows the Pearl River through the heart of the city, showcasing Guangzhou's blend of modern architecture and traditional Canton culture. The course passes landmarks including the Canton Tower, Haixinsha Island, and the Guangzhou Opera House. The event has grown rapidly and now attracts around 30,000 participants.
