About This Race

The 48th Istanbul Marathon is the world's only intercontinental marathon, starting on the Asian side and crossing the Bosphorus Bridge to finish on the European side at the historic Hippodrome. Runners experience two continents in one race, passing iconic landmarks including the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and Topkapi Palace. The event holds World Athletics Gold Label status and attracts over 50,000 participants.
