The Kosice Peace Marathon is the oldest marathon in Europe, first run in 1924, and among the world's oldest. Held every first Sunday of October in the historic centre of Kosice, eastern Slovakia, the 2026 edition falls on 4 October. The flat, fast, fully asphalted and traffic-free course runs two loops through the old town, climbing only about 74 metres.
