About This Race
The Maine Coast Marathon runs along the rugged Atlantic coast of Maine — the northeastern corner of America, where the rocky shoreline punctuated by lobster boat coves, white clapboard fishing villages, and candy-striped lighthouses defines the landscape. The BQ course runs along Casco Bay's rocky shore, past Portland Head Light (Maine's most photographed lighthouse, built by order of George Washington), through the Old Port's cobblestone waterfront, and along Back Cove's scenic bay loop.
