About This Race
The Marathon du Medoc celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2026 with the theme of the 1980s. Known as the longest marathon in the world (thanks to 23 wine-tasting stops), this unique event takes runners through the prestigious vineyards and chateaux of the Bordeaux wine region. Participants run in fancy dress costumes while enjoying wine, cheese, foie gras, oysters, and steak along the course. Starting and finishing in Pauillac, it has a 6.5-hour time limit and attracts runners from over 50 nations.
