About This Race
The Newport Marathon runs through one of America's most picturesque and historically rich cities — the former summer colony of the Vanderbilts, Astors, and Belmonts. The course winds along the famous 3.5-mile Cliff Walk between the Atlantic Ocean and the lawn of Gilded Age mansions like The Breakers and Marble House, past Fort Adams, and through Newport's exquisitely preserved Colonial and Federal architecture downtown.
