About This Race
The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon starts and finishes outside the iconic Cape Town Stadium in Green Point. The 2026 edition continues its journey toward becoming Africa's first Abbott World Marathon Major and will host the AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Championships for masters runners. Distances include the full 42.2 km marathon, 10 km, and 5 km Peace Runs. Entry is by ballot with a non-refundable R5 application fee. The full entry fee of approximately R3,900 for international runners is charged if selected.
