About This Race

The Seoul Marathon, formerly known as the Dong-A Marathon, is the oldest marathon in South Korea and the second oldest in Asia, holding the prestigious World Athletics Platinum Label. The race starts at Gwanghwamun Square and takes runners through central Seoul, past Gyeongbokgung Palace, along the banks of the Han River, and through vibrant neighborhoods. Entry to the full marathon requires a prior qualifying time under 5 hours. The event attracts over 35,000 runners across its full marathon and 10km distances and is one of the most competitive marathons in Asia.
