About This Race
Marathon Eryri, formerly the Snowdonia Marathon, is widely regarded as the UK's toughest marathon. The demanding and spectacular route encircles Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), the highest peak in Wales, with over 800 metres of elevation gain. Originally organised by the National Trust in 1982 as a fundraiser, it is now run by the community non-profit Snowdonia Marathon Cyf. Limited to around 2,500 runners, it attracts those seeking a truly challenging mountain marathon.
