About This Race
The Spokane Marathon runs through the Lilac City — Spokane's proud nickname, with lilacs blooming spectacularly in May. The BQ-friendly course winds through Riverfront Park (built for the 1974 World's Fair), past Spokane Falls (the largest falls in any US city centre), along the Spokane River Centennial Trail through Riverside State Park's ponderosa pine forest, across the iron Monroe Street Bridge, and through the historic Browne's Addition mansions.
