About This Race
The Sugarloaf Marathon is Maine's oldest continuously run marathon and one of the nation's fastest courses. The USATF-certified, Boston-qualifying course follows scenic Route 27 from Eustis through Carrabassett Valley to Kingfield, passing the Bigelow Mountain range and running alongside the Carrabassett River. The first five miles are relatively flat, miles 5-10 feature rolling hills with a steady climb, and the final 16 miles offer a gradual net descent.
