The Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon has been hailed as the most beautiful urban marathon in America, running from Minneapolis to Saint Paul through the scenic Chain of Lakes and along the Mississippi River. First held in 1982 when the Minneapolis and St. Paul marathons merged, the 2026 race expects about 11,000 runners, potentially placing it in the top 10 largest U. S. marathons.
