About
The FirstEnergy Akron Marathon, Half Marathon & Team Relay is the flagship event of the Akron Marathon Race Series presented by Summa Health. Founded in 2003 by Steve and Jeannine Marks, the nonprofit event promotes health and fitness while stimulating the local economy. The course showcases Akron's diverse neighborhoods, the Towpath Trail, and the beautiful Cuyahoga Valley. FirstEnergy has been the title sponsor since the event's inception.
