About This Race
The Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Marathon, presented by ASICS, is New Zealand's biggest marathon running event, celebrating 35 years in 2026. The course starts in Devonport on the North Shore and takes runners through Takapuna, onto the Northern Busway, and across the iconic Auckland Harbour Bridge with sweeping views of the Waitemata Harbour and Rangitoto Island. After descending into the city, the marathon continues on an out-and-back waterfront section to St Heliers Bay. The event also features a half marathon, 11km Traverse, 5km Challenge, and Kids Marathon.
