About This Race
The Phoenix Energy Belfast City Marathon is Northern Ireland's biggest participatory sporting event, first held in 1982 with just over 3,000 runners. The AIMS-certified course starts at Stormont Estate and winds through the city to finish in Ormeau Park. The event also features a popular team relay with legs ranging from 4 to 7 miles. Having grown from a marathon-only event, it now includes relay, walking, and fun run categories.
