About This Race
The Goa River Marathon runs through India's smallest state and most beloved beach destination — a former Portuguese colony of 450 years that still retains its laid-back Latin European influence. The flat coastal course winds along Panaji's picturesque Mandovi River esplanade, through the Portuguese-era Latin Quarter with its candy-coloured colonial houses, past the UNESCO Basilica of Bom Jesus (containing St. Francis Xavier's remains), and along Miramar Beach.
