About This Race
The Santa Fe Marathon runs through "The City Different" — America's oldest capital city (founded 1610, predating Plymouth Rock by 10 years) and the world's oldest art market. At 7,000 feet in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, the high-altitude course winds through the adobe pueblo architecture of the historic Palace of the Governors corridor, past the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, along the Santa Fe River Trail, through Canyon Road's legendary gallery district, and up into the pinon-juniper foothills with mountain views.
