About This Race
The Waterside Half Marathon is the longest-running race in the Northern Ireland athletics calendar, first held in 1981. Organised by Derry City and Strabane District Council, the scenic course takes runners through the historic Walled City of Derry, crossing the iconic Peace Bridge and running along both sides of the River Foyle. It has grown to become one of the largest half marathons in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
