About This Race
The Midnight Sun Marathon in Anchorage runs during the summer solstice — when Anchorage sees nearly 20 hours of daylight and the sun barely dips below the horizon. The BQ course winds through Anchorage's extensive coastal trail system along Cook Inlet, with the Chugach Mountains (snow-capped even in June) forming a stunning backdrop, through Kincaid Park's boreal forest birch and spruce, along the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail with Denali visible on clear days 180 miles away.
