About This Race
The Blue Ridge Marathon earns its title as America's Toughest Road Marathon — a brutal 26,000+ feet of elevation change through the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia along the iconic Blue Ridge Parkway. The course ascends three mountains including Mill Mountain (home of the Roanoke Star) and Cahas Mountain, with panoramic views across the Blue Ridge valleys in every direction. Spring wildflowers line the route in April.
