About This Race
The Martin Marietta City of Oaks Marathon is Raleigh's signature running event, showcasing the city's diversity from modern downtown to wooded trails. The Boston-qualifying course passes focal points including Fayetteville Street, the State Capitol Building, the Glenwood South restaurant district, Meredith College, NC State University, and the NC State Bell Tower. Founded in 2007, the event has grown to attract over 7,000 participants across the marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K, with a post-race party featuring live music and free beer.
