About This Race
The Fukuoka International Marathon is the world's oldest continuously held men's marathon and one of Japan's most prestigious races. Founded in 1947 on the shores of Hakata Bay, the fast, flat course is a World Athletics Elite Label event known for producing world-record attempts. The December race winds through Fukuoka's waterfront and neighborhoods in Japan's ramen and street food capital.
