About This Race

The AJ Bell Great Scottish Run is Glasgow's biggest running event, featuring both a half marathon and a 10K. The event has its roots in the 1979 Glasgow Marathon, which transformed into a mass-participation event in 1982. Now part of the Great Run series, the scenic course starts on St Vincent Street and takes runners through Glasgow Green, along the Clyde, and past landmarks like the SEC Armadillo. Around 20,000 runners take part each year.
