About This Race
The Kobe Marathon, themed around Thanks and Friendship, takes runners on a scenic tour of this beautiful port city. The course winds through the streets of Kobe along the waterfront, offering views of the city skyline, Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, and Kobe Harbor. Born from the spirit of recovery after the 1995 Great Hanshin earthquake, the marathon symbolizes resilience and community. The event draws around 20,000 runners annually, including approximately 2,000 international participants. A 7-hour time limit makes it accessible to runners of all levels.
