About This Race
The Kobe Marathon runs through Japan's most cosmopolitan and international port city — Kobe opened to the West in 1858 and absorbed French, German, Chinese, and Indian influences. The scenic course along Kobe's stunning waterfront features the magnificent Akashi Kaikyo Bridge (the world's longest suspension bridge at 3,911m) as a backdrop, winds through the Kitano-cho western-style ijinkan mansion district, and runs beneath the Rokko Mountains with Osaka Bay views.
