About This Race
The Kyoto Marathon takes runners on a breathtaking tour through Japan's ancient capital, passing seven UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Sites including Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion), Ninna-ji, and Kamigamo Shrine. Starting from TAKEBISHI Stadium Kyoto and finishing near the iconic Heian-jingu Shrine, the course offers spectacular views of the five mountains famous for the Gozan no Okuribi bonfire festival. The event also features a unique Pair Ekiden relay option. Nintendo is a Platinum Partner of the 2026 edition.
