About This Race
The Portland Marathon runs through America's most livable city — the quirky, progressive, bike-obsessed City of Roses on the Willamette River in the shadow of Mt. Hood. The BQ course crosses six of Portland's iconic bridges spanning the Willamette, winds through the Alberta Arts District's street murals, along the Tom McCall Waterfront Park, through the Pearl District's converted warehouse galleries, past Powell's Books (the world's largest independent bookstore), and through Forest Park.
