About This Race
The St. Louis Marathon runs in the shadow of the Gateway Arch — Eero Saarinen's 630-foot stainless steel parabolic arch rising above the Mississippi River, the tallest man-made monument in the Western Hemisphere. The BQ course winds through the massive Forest Park (bigger than Central Park, host of the 1904 World's Fair and Olympics), past the St. Louis Art Museum, the Missouri History Museum, the St. Louis Zoo, and along the Mississippi Riverwalk with the Arch gleaming overhead.
