About This Race
The Tirana International Marathon runs through Albania's capital — one of Europe's most rapidly transforming cities, reinventing itself after decades of extreme communist isolation under Enver Hoxha. The colourful course winds from the magnificent Skanderbeg Square, past the Ottoman Et'hem Bey Mosque alongside the communist-era National History Museum, through the vibrant Blloku district (once the exclusive communist party quarter), and along the Grand Park lakeside.
