The Twin Cities Marathon is officially rated "The Most Beautiful Urban Marathon in America" — a World Athletics Gold Label race through Minneapolis and St. Paul at peak Minnesota fall foliage, along the famous chain of lakes (Lake Harriet, Lake Calhoun, Lake of the Isles), beside the mighty Mississippi River gorge, through the University of Minnesota's historic campus, and down Summit Avenue 's grand Victorian mansions to finish beside the Minnesota State Capitol.
