About This Race
The Vermont City Marathon runs through Burlington — America's most livable small city, perched on the shores of Lake Champlain with the Adirondack Mountains of New York visible across the vast lake. The BQ course starts on the Burlington Waterfront, winds through the University of Vermont's hilltop campus, through the Church Street Marketplace pedestrian mall, along the Intervale farmland valley, and back via the lakefront bike path with the Green Mountains rising behind the city.
