About This Race
The Wilmington Marathon runs through North Carolina's historic port city on the Cape Fear River — the biggest Hollywood film production hub on the East Coast outside NYC (known as "Wilmywood"). The scenic course winds along the Wilmington Riverwalk antebellum waterfront, past the USS North Carolina battleship memorial moored on the river, through the historic downtown filled with antebellum mansions and film location plaques, and across the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge.
