About This Race
The Accra Marathon runs through Ghana's vibrant capital — widely regarded as West Africa's most stable, democratic, and welcoming gateway city. The flat coastal course starts from the iconic Black Star Square (where Ghana declared independence from Britain in 1957), winds along the Atlantic Ocean Labadi Beach Boulevard, through the bustling Osu and Cantonments districts, past the National Museum, and through the colourful Jamestown fishing harbour with its vibrant painted pirogues.
