About This Race
The Canyonlands Half Marathon, first run on May 1, 1976 with just 22 finishers (and a dog), celebrates 50 years in 2026. The USATF-certified course begins 11 miles up Highway 128 and winds through the stunning red rock canyons carved by the Colorado River. Organized by Mad Moose Events, the event is limited to 5,000 entries across the half marathon and a 5-mile run. Registration is first-come, first-served and typically sells out.
