About This Race
The Cowtown Marathon, now in its 48th year, is the largest running event in North Texas. Founded in 1979 by the University of North Texas Health Science Center, the two-day festival features an ultra marathon, full marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K, and kids races. The course winds through the historic Fort Worth Stockyards, downtown, TCU, and the southside. A record 29,000 runners participated in the 2026 edition.
