About This Race
The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway Marathon runs across the world's longest bridge over water — the 24-mile Lake Pontchartrain Causeway (Guinness World Record holder). For 8 miles in the middle of the bridge, there is literally no visible land in any direction — just the endless shimmer of Louisiana's vast inland lake. A flat, windswept, utterly unique running experience unlike any other finish line on earth.
