About This Race
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner Midnight Sun Run is one of Alaska's most unique running events -- a 10K race that begins at 10 PM on the Saturday closest to the summer solstice. Despite the late hour, runners need no flashlights as the midnight sun keeps the sky bright throughout the race. Now in its 44th year, the course starts at the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus and finishes at Pioneer Park, winding through Fairbanks neighborhoods. The event attracts participants from around the world who come to experience this uniquely Alaskan racing tradition.
