About This Race
The Statesman Cap10K is the largest 10K race in Texas and one of the largest in the United States. Starting near the Texas State Capitol, the course runs south on Congress Avenue, crosses the Ann Richards Congress Avenue Bridge over Lady Bird Lake, winds through scenic South Austin, and finishes at Auditorium Shores. The race has been a beloved Austin tradition since 1978, drawing tens of thousands of runners, walkers, and wheelchair participants each spring.
